Back from a Break

This past week I had the opportunity to take a step back and really relax from not just ISM class but just the entirety of school in general and the stress and pressure that it provides. The only thing that I truly had to do for ISM was a research assessment but that was not truly much work at all because I can generally knock research assessments out pretty fast. However, that does not mean that I was not busy. The primary objective and challenge during Thanksgiving break was to complete my college applications. I had to apply to the schools that I was most interested in over break so it required a lot of diligence and meticulousness. With that being said I would also like to reflect on one of the most relatively pivotal assignments in ISM. I presented my research speech and quite frankly I was disappointed. Relatively speaking, my presentation was not bad, however, the only thing that matters is how much better I did than myself. And that day, I feel that I did not do the best I could. My visual aid could have been more engaging and I was verbose in my speech, extending the time for my speech. At this point, I felt that I might have made a mistake in not creating an actual "script" in the form of an outline. The good thing is that the problem was not my delivery or confidence or anything along those lines, thus I am an advantage given that my shortcomings were an easy fix. With that being said, I feel like I am better prepared as a professional spokesperson and presenter which I can hopefully demonstrate on Winter Showcase after I complete my original work within these next two weeks.
