This past week, things really took off for me. Two weeks ago, I had mentioned that I had two interviews scheduled, and now this past week I successfully conducted those two interviews. Both of my interviews were on the 5th of October, with the first one being with Mr. James Meyer, the chief architect of Seven Tablets, while my second interview was with Mr. Aaron Evans, an Android OS developer at Bottle Rocket Studios. In my opinion, the interviews went pretty well and not only were my questions answered but I realized some very important information that I just would not get out of reading an article. One thing in particular that I noticed when I went to both of the interviews is that the environment is very casual, and not a very traditionally formal setting. I think that this is partly due to the fact that these fields are so new and so there are not many individuals who are accustomed to working in a traditional and formal environment. Additionally, going on the interviews provided me with some invaluable knowledge. I found out many things such as how to get started in mobile app development, and more specific things such as what IDE's are used by professionals and what programming languages are the most effective to creating certain types of apps. The interviews undoubtedly gave me unprecedented insight into the mobile app industry. While these interviews were successful, I also had some challenges this week. One of the particular challenges that I faced were keeping up with the due dates. There are a multitude of due dates and for me personally, I just need to try and stay on top of them. It is not the easiest to keep up with and my time management skills are being tested heavily, thus I need to improve my habits in order to adhere to what ISM demands out of me. One of the biggest ways I will overcome the difficulty of due dates is by getting a planner. I just need to know when things are due before I get the alert on my phone that the assignment is due. I think that the planner will facilitate better success in terms of time management in ISM. With that being said, from here on out I will try stick to a schedule and start working more efficiently and diligently. In the coming weeks, I hope to finish up my interviews, their corresponding interview assessments, research assessments and just overall finish out this testing six weeks strong.
