With the ease of load in terms of research, much of my time is going towards my original work. For my original work, I will create an analytical report of my findings from a survey that I will conduct in secondary Frisco ISD schools. Thus, to get started on my original work I need to acquire substantial information to create the survey. Luckily, I have knowledge of study design due to my AP Statistics class so I have a stronger foundation to my original work than most. This past week, one of my biggest successes was that I finished the past six weeks extremely strong. A goal in the immediate future is to prepare for my research speech. My worry is not whether my speaking ability will be lacking, instead, my greatest worry is that whether my speech will successfully reflect and convey the extensive knowledge that I have accumulated through interviews and research. I need to get the information across in a concise yet effective manner. I have learned a tremendous amount of information and as a result it can be understandable to ramble on, but I must still maintain the attention of my audience. To enforce brevity and effectiveness, one of my biggest goals is to practice a lot and perhaps do a practice run through for a peer with the visual aid and receive feedback in terms of sustaining the audience's attention. Additionally, I made a particularly important decision this past week. I decided to not conduct another informational interview because upon further reflection, I believe that I have already found my potential mentor. I will initiate the process of selecting a mentor in class on Tuesday, the 6th of November. In terms of looking forward, this week I will also distribute my survey among Frisco ISD secondary schools hopefully by the 9th of November, that way I can allow a week to collect results and go into Thanksgiving break to analyze the results.
