Pressure and Performance

Updated: Mar 2, 2020

This past week in ISM, we primarily focused on giving speeches that reflected on our original work and this past semester in ISM. In terms of my peers, I am pleasantly surprised to see their growth and as an ISM II student, it makes me very happy and proud to see how far every single one of them has come since their very first introduction speech. Additionally, seeing my peers has allowed me to make notes of common habits that I know that I do as well so that I can improve on my presentation whenever the time comes. Considering that, one of my biggest strengths this past week has been refinement. Everything that I have done this past week, whether that be giving feedback, research, or creating a speech/visual aid. However, this week has had its challenges as well. One of the biggest challenges this past week was finding a mentor again. Many professionals are knee-deep into their projects because it is nearing the end of the business quarter, and because of this they are unwilling to take up an additional time commitment. However, after pulling a few strings, I believe that I did finally find someone, and I hope to secure him as my mentor within the next week. With that being said, I look forward to delivering my speech this coming week, secure my mentorship, and continue to work towards my final product after collaborating with my soon-to-be mentor.
