The Journey Begins...

This past week, I was heavily exposed to the professional aspect of ISM. One of the most key things that I learned this week was how to improve my handshake. I believe the opportunity to shake my peer’s hands allowed me to correct myself before I executed it in a professional setting. While I did make crucial improvements, this past week was not without its challenges. This past week I began to research my topic of mobile app programming extensively. However, what I began to discover is the lack of articles on the mobile app industry or even the computer science industry for that matter. It seems that since the field is relatively new, there are not as many employees nor as many researchers to write about the topic. At times I did experience frustration, however I decided to simply take a break and try researching at another time. Fortunately, I had my fair share of success this past week as well. This past week, I managed to finish my questions to use when interviewing industry professionals. Although this may seem trivial, for me it is a huge leap in the long process of finding my mentor and eventually collaborating with him/her. With this step completed, I look forward to begin contacting many professionals within the next few weeks.
