Time to Work

This past week in ISM was primarily a work week. I completed all 3 of my interviews with the third being this past Friday. One of my biggest accomplishments this past week was my third interview. On Friday, I interviewed the co-founder of Five Pack Creative, a mobile app company here in Frisco, Texas. To me, this opportunity was monumental because it is not very often that one gets to interview a co-founder of a mobile app company. I was truly honored and a lot more critical of myself. I took notes of what I felt that I did incorrectly in my past interviews and truly presented the best professional version of myself to my interviewee. I believe that this paid off. I believe that in terms of comfort and interviewing ability this was my best interview yet. We extensively discussed topics that were essential for my knowledge as a mobile app developer, and I received some very wise and esteemed advice and information. Another more important facet from this interview with the cofounder of Five Pack Creative was that I was able to receive a lot more business-oriented advice. Obviously marketing and entrepreneurship is a large part of mobile app development and so hearing this information was a nice change of pace. In addition to my interview, a more personal achievement was that I managed to improve my time management skills and turned all of my assignments in. I bought a planner and that has helped keep my assignments and work organized so that I can stay on top of them and I am not playing catch up. As trivial as time management may seem, I believe that it was integral to my professional development and especially for mobile app development because there are often project deadlines. The only time consuming assignments I have left are two interview assessments and one research assessments. However with the refinement of my time management skills, I look forward to finishing this marking period strong and completing all assignments to the best of my ability.
